In 1992, the Toscana IGT was introduced in Italy's Tuscany, bridging the gap between the region's highly regulated DOC and DOCG appellations, like Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino, and its less regulated table wine (Vino da Tavola). With more lenient rules, Toscana winemakers were able to use (and blend) international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, in addition to local varieties.

Today, this variety of grapes—combined with diverse terroirs and winemaking techniques—means there are many distinctive wines made across the expanse of Tuscany, and at a range of prices. That diversity is on display in this week's selection, which features Toscana IGT reds priced between $15 and $30, with scores up to 92 points.

This selection features Antinori's Toscana Villa Antinori 2021, which shows red fruit, spice and mineral notes; read on to get our score and full tasting note for this fantastic Tuscan red and seven others!
